Psychiatric Evaluation
A comprehensive evaluation gathering information about your history and symptoms, with the goal of determining a diagnosis and treatment options. Although this is much like an interview, your input and views are essential to making this a collaborative experience.
During this initial consultation, our provider will be asking a variety of questions to better understand your issues and perspective. It may also be useful to gather information from other individuals who know you well, such as family members, significant others, and teachers. After all information is gathered, our provider will present a detailed formulation of your presenting problem and discuss treatment recommendations tailored to your needs. The treatments may include medications, psychotherapy or a combination of the two.
Medication Management
Judicious, thoughtful and evidence-based use of medications can provide significant benefit for a variety of mental health conditions. After a thorough evaluation and review of all the risks and benefits, we will work together to determine the best course of medical treatment for your unique short-term needs and long-term goals.
If medications are deemed fit, our provider will collaborate with you (and parents/guardians for minors) to determine the best option(s) to address your individual needs. Once medications are started, follow-up appointments will be necessary to monitor your progress and assess for side effects. Our provider maintains a conservative approach when using medications, particularly with children, and will prescribe them only when clinically appropriate.
Telemedicine Services
We are excited to announce that we offer telemedicine services for your convenience. Having a “virtual” visit from the comfort of your home offers flexibility as there is less time loss with commuting. Our providers will provide the same type of services and attention to detail via your smartphone, just like a standard in-person visit to our office.
Therapy Services
Our psychiatric providers offer brief therapy incorporating elements of motivational interviewing, cognitive behavior therapy, mindfulness, and psychodynamic approaches alongside deemed necessary medication.
For more extensive therapeutic services, we are offering in-house therapy services. We are excited to offer individual, couple, or family therapy. Our three primary therapists work collaboratively with you in gaining insight into life choices and difficulties faced. When beginning therapy sessions, you can expect one-hour structured meetings between a licensed provider and yourself with the goal of achieving positive changes or improvements in quality of life.
